IOWARecipes
Timberpine Lodge B & B, near Adel, is the kind of place that brings out the nature-lover in its guests. It's a popular destination for hunters, bird watchers, canoeists, and hikers. So it makes sense that guests would gobble up these hearty Lodge Cakes. Fire up the griddle.

Lodge Cakes

1 ¼ cups Oatmeal
1 cup plain yogurt
1 cup lowfat milk
1 tsp. honey or sugar
¼ cup white flour
¼ cup whole-wheat flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 large eggs, beaten
¼ cup chopped walnuts

Cook on hot, lightly oiled griddle or in non-stick frying pan. Serve with favorite topping
